It was obvious that team Kinabalu had instructions to attack in the middle instead of on the wings. Langer's counterattacks were lethal to the opposing defence, allowing A. Nandini to score easily from the right flank for 0 - 1. 43 minutes into the game, U. Jayan came close to levelling the score with a dangerous shot from the centre of the area that went just over the bar. The teams went for the halftime break at 0 - 1. Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Kinabalu, with 66 percent of the ball.

With 72 minutes played, Langer put themselves up 0 - 2 after an attack from the right, caused by a defensive blunder. The scorer was C. Piazzo. V. Ağırtaş did everything he could to get one back for his Kinabalu, but keeper A. Vochin denied him with a spectacular block. The opposing supporters gave the referee an earful when he only gave G. Ambrósio from Kinabalu a yellow card after a mistimed challenge from behind 80 minutes into the game. That was far too lenient! Kinabalu had most of the ball, with 65 percent of possession.

Kinabalu's best player was G. Ambrósio. J. Morales was a disappointment, however. C. Piazzo performed admirably for Langer. A. Vochin turned in a dismal performance, however. The match ends 0 - 2.
